“Cosplay”----是 “costume play”的缩写，玩“cosplay”的人则一般被称为‘cosplayer‘。中文译作 “角色扮演”， 即是以服饰和道具的配搭，加上化妆造型、身体语言等等，来扮演成acg(anime、comic、game)中的角色或是一些日本视觉系乐队以及电影中的某些人物，简而言之就是喜爱视觉系的人不再满足于观看演出，自行或组织队伍模仿动漫人物、将游戏创作表演为舞台剧就是COSPLAY。

1.长相身材：一个角色像不像，关系到人物的身高、体形、气质等各方面，只有神似才行。

2.时间金钱：玩COSPLAY要有大量的时间，而且这是个非常消耗资金的项目。你承受得起吗？cosplay衣服价格不菲，专卖店成品服的话通常要价近千。自己动手裁制虽然花费较少，但如果就cos角色服饰的复杂度而言有时也要将近六、七百元，并且还要付出相当大的心血与劳力。
2. Time and cost: To play cosplay needs huge amount of time, and also very expensive. Could you afford it? The cosplay dresses are very costly from the exclusive stores, almost a thousand yuan per set. Although that would be cheaper to make your own dress by yourself, but six, seven hundred yuan still would be spent according to the complexities of the dress, and don’t forget the efforts you would pay.
3.动手能力：不要以为你有钱又有闲就无敌了，很多时候衣服和道具有钱也买不到，全靠自己制作，倒是体现了COSPLAY的精髓：DIY。
3,Abilities: Do not even think that you can make yourself incredible if you have money and time. Many cloth and props could not be purchase from the shops, you have to make it up, but this, is exactly reflecting the spirit of cosplay, which is DIY.
4.献身精神：大热天穿着很厚的衣服，大冬天里穿着露肩又露背的薄衫裙，为了艺术必须忍受天气的考验。有人为了追求角色上的相似，必须用戏剧油彩在脸上绘上诡异的花纹，宝贵的皮肤也只好牺牲一下了。
4,Sacrifice: Thick bulky cloth in summer, thin tiny shirt in winter, you have to endure the weather some times for the art. Someone was painting their face with drama color oil in order to maximize the similarity with the character, while their treasurable skin was sacrificed.
很难说cosplay到底为我们带来了什么，毕竟任何事物都有其两面性。从圈外人士来看cosplay这项活动是一种既劳民伤财不经济又没意义的活动。其实真正的cosplay并非只是装扮其外在，更主要的是对心灵上的互换。得到心灵上的舒解、对现实的暂时逃避以及一种想法上的暂时改变。感受到的喜悦与逃避现实痛苦的轻松感却是可以让自己更加积极更有自信与期待。
It’s hard to say what exactly cosplay brings us, because every thing has both sides. From outside opinions the cosplay is nothing but a none sense costly activity, and it is waisting time. But the real fact of cosplay is not only just an outlook decoration, but more importantly, the communications between souls. It could find a peace for mind, a piece of dreamland of fantasy, and a temporary switch of thoughts. Relax from the pain of reality, enjoy the please from playing, and after rebuilds oneself who has more confidence and expectations.
