一个英语句子，我认为句子结构有问题，请高手赐教

句子为:The focus of this essay is on the causes of and solutions to this problem. 我认为有两个问题，第一个就是介词on使用的是否合适；第二个就是cause of 后面应该加名词，of后面缺结构，请高手赐教一下！谢谢！
