nevertheless和but的区别

一、意思不同

“nevertheless”意思是：adv. 然而，不过，虽然如此；conj. 然而，不过

“but”意思是：conj. 但是，而是，然而；adv. 仅仅，只；prep. 除…以外；n. (But)人名；布特

二、词性不同

nevertheless：可作副词和连词。

but：既可作副词和连词，也可作名词和介词。

三、用法不同

1、nevertheless：可用于否定和肯定语句中，表示让步的转折。

例句：Nevertheless, some people quite enjoy the challenge. 

译文：然而，一些人很喜欢这种挑战。

2、but：通常用于句子的开始部分，用语肯定句中。

例句：Please excuse me, but there is something I must say.

译文：请原谅，不过有件事我必须说一下。

nevertheless，but和however的比较：

（1）but用来引出相反的意见，是口语常用语，如：sally was amused，but i was very embarrassed.萨莉很开心，但我却很尴尬。

（2）however比but的词义要弱些，并不直接引出相反的意见，因此常用作插入语，如：the most surprising thing about it，however，is that it can land anywhere.不过，答案〖but〗解析：关于这架飞机最使人吃惊的事情是，它可以在任何地方着陆。

Nevertheless 和 but 都是然而，不过的意思，但nevertheless 却可以和but 连用而不会导致意思重复
例如： What you said was true but nevertheless unkind.
你所说的都对, 不过有点不客气。

nevertheless 作为连接词来用和 but 一样的用法，但but 不能用于句尾而nevertheless 却可以，例如 He succeeded nevertheless
不过他还是成功了。用于句前 例如： Nevertheless, organizations still use headhunters.
然而，企业机构仍然雇用猎头公司。
用于转折关系于but 意思也一样：A small, nevertheless fatal error.
很小却是致命的错误

总的来讲，这两词基本上没啥区别，不过自我认为 nevertheless 比 but 更好些，有时文章为了防止写太多重复的单词就可以换着用。
