1、句子地位不同

并列连词前后的词或句子在是地位平等，性质一致；连词前后的句子不顷等，从属一个主句，一个是从句。

2、是否做成分

并列连词不做句子成分；从属连词连接代词与连接副词作句子成分。

3、连接句子叫法不同

并列连词连接的句子叫分句；从属连词连接的句子叫从句，如：名词性从句与状语从句。

如：and是并列连词，  because是从属连词Tom is young and rich.

具体用法：

2、Both ...and 两者都I like both apples and bananas.Both Tom and I are in Class Four.注意：Both ...and不能连接两个以上的并列成分，也不能连接分句。如：Both Tom likes English and Jack likes it.(错)I like both English， Chinese and history. (错)

3、not only … but (also) … 意思是“不但…而且…”这是一组关联并列连词，其意义侧重点在后一项上。
