empathy对应的中文是"移情作用"。

empathy(移情作用)是一种能力，就是我们所说的换位思考。当说到empathy的时候，你不能真切地感受到别人的感受，你只能靠你的主观想象，来猜测别人内心的感受。

So,empathy is an ability,it means to put yourself in other person's shoes in your imagination,to mentally calculating the effects of feeling what the other person is feeling.

sympathy它的一个意思是"同情"，另一个更深的意思是"共鸣"。(这个才是重要的)

"同情"大家都能理解，对别人的遭遇表示悲伤，难过。

sympathy①: feeling compassion, sorry,pity for someone's misfortune.

而第二种意思:"共鸣"，是一种精神层次上的感受。两个不同的个体有着共同的喜好，目标，品味，能真切的感受对方内心的感受，而不再是通过想象来推测对方的内心感受，这叫做sympathy。
