The author of Grimm‘s fairy tales describes the blue sky，dense forest，handsome prince and beautiful princess in the magical fairy tale world in popular，simple and fluent language.
It praises honesty，kindness，diligence and couragecriticizes laziness，selfishness，hypocrisy and cunning.It embodies the rich imagination，beautiful inner world and lofty moral realm of the German people.
《格林童话》作者用通俗、质朴、流畅的语言，对神奇童话世界里湛蓝的天空、茂密的森林、英俊的王子、美丽的公主等进行了描写，颂扬了诚实、善良、勤劳、勇敢，批评了懒惰、自私、虚伪、狡猾，体现了德国人民丰富的想象力，优美的内心世界和崇高的道德境界。
《格林童话》分类：
《格林童话》内容广泛，体裁多样，除了童话外，还有民间故事、笑话、寓言等。其中故事大致分三类：一是神魔故事，如《灰姑娘》、《白雪公主》、《玫瑰公主》、《青蛙王子》、《小矮人与老鞋匠》、《玻璃瓶中的妖怪》等，这些故事情节曲折、惊险奇异、变幻莫测。
二是以动物为主人公的拟人童话，如《猫和老鼠》、《狼与七只小山羊》、《金鸟》等，这些故事中的动物既富有人情，又具有动物特点，生动可爱。三是以日常生活为题材的故事，如《快乐的汉斯》、《三兄弟》等，这些故事中的人物勤劳质朴、幽默可爱。
The influence of these books was widespread.Some people criticized it as not suitable for children though it is called "Children's Tales".Many changes were made – such as turning the wicked mother of the first edition in "Snow White" to a stepmother in later editions.
In 1825 the Brothers published a "small edition," a selection of 50 tales designed for child readers.
