no和not都表示否定，但含义和使用场合不同，no和not的用法区别如下：
1.not意为“不”，是副词，表示否定，用来修饰动词、形容词、副词、、连词等。
Not surprisingly,we missed train.（NOT No surprisingly,...)一点儿也不吃惊，我们错过了火车。
The students went on strike,but not the teachers.（NOT...but no the teachers.） 学生们，而不是老师们，继续罢工。
I can see you tomorrow,but not on Thursday.我明天可以看到你，不是星期四。
I have not received his answer。我还没有收到你的回复。
2.no意为“没有”，是形容词，常位于名词前，用来否定这个名词。有时no否定名词时，可理解为这个名词的
反义词，意思是“并非”。
There is no tea in the cup.杯子里没有茶。
3.no放在名词前面， 可以表示not any/not a的意思，因此凡是和any或a 搭配的名词、
动名词、形容词或副词，都可与no 搭配使用。
No teachers went on strike.（=There were not any teachers on strike.）没有老师在继续罢工。
I‘ve got no Thursadys free this term.（=...not any Thursdays...)我这个学期星期四都没有空。
I telephoned,but there was no answer.(=...not an answer.)我打电话了，但是那里没有人回应.
4.有时候"动词+not“和”no+名词"意义相同。如：
There wasn't an answer.=There was no answer.那里没有回应。
5.“No＋动名词”的省略句，表示“禁止，不准”的意思。这时，不能用“not any”代替“no”。
