The newly established Square is located in front of the Second Teaching Building. Elaborately conceived, the layout shows the originality of the designers, fulfilling the miniature of horticulture in such a limited space. For one thing, the fountain connected with the other two ponds through tunnel is the dominant building in the Square and occupies the central position. To your surprise, its style is unique instead of round-shaped traditionally, contributing to the cobble-stoned edge and the six heart-shaped lamp posts around it. Especially, when the refreshing breeze is fleeting over the water in the pond, it feels like taking away the fatigue and soothing the soul. Opposing the fountain, the marble is carved “people are in the same boat” which is the most memorable welcoming point. Moreover, rambling the textured pebbled winding alley, you will enjoy the journey as well as appreciate the fragrant blossoms. Among this place, several parterres, each of a different size and pattern, have been arranged novelly. Most of the ornamental plants such as azalea, marigold, daisy, pansy, China rose, peach tree, cherry tree bloom and flourish in spring. So the most intoxicating season of the Square is spring, everything coming to new life and full of vital force. With multifarious showy flowers being in brilliant reds and purples and the air brimming over with the aroma, the alluring scenery makes more attractive than other things. Furthermore, you could see the colorific rainbow, soon after the water is sprayed on the glossy green grass and the warm sun kisses the lawn soulfully. With the bird’s twittering, the view is so lovely that everybody is reluctant to leave. All of these blending in harmony, you cannot help becoming enveloped in its exquisite beauty!
