Green-colored sunshine shining though soft leaves, all the green days in the growth rings’ telling legend to the future and the past. These green hopes in the Olympic rings are just like warm hugs and brilliant haloes under the blue sky of Beijing. As the 29th Olympic Game which is held in Beijing is coming up soon, every citizen in our city is a messenger of green Olympic, we love our city and care more and more about our environment. In those lovely smiling face, I’m touched deeply for all the efforts we make. I can see the grassland is greener; the blue sky is beautiful and clean, and every little tree is growing happily in warm and gentle breeze. This is my hometown, this is beautiful Beijing, and there place the Green Olympic hopes on.

Thinking about a few years ago, when I saw the taxonomic dustbin in our community for the first time, the Green Olympic made no difference in my mind. I just regarded it as an interesting way to sort garbage. But when a few days later I raised my hands high up and was eager to be a member of "the Communist Youth League’s EPD group", I told myself firmly, "It’s a great way to make contribution to the 2008’s Beijing." Maybe this is why I have that much passion on this great action. In the following months, we have activities such as picking up all the plastic things which are surrounded our school together with our teacher. We were all very excited about this meaningful thing. We also set up special dustbins for used batteries, so that we can both pollute less and recycle more. When seeing all the plastics and the batteries were carried on the truck which was going to the recycle factory to handle these things, we were all very happy about it. Everyone forgot all the hardness. To let the dream of" Green Beijing" come true, all of us should give a hand. "I’ve do something great for you Beijing," What a great sentence!

And at the same time, the actions of protecting the environment are going on, too. My father changed all the taps in my family into saving-waterones, and all the water we use are recycled for at least 2 or 3 times. I always can hear this ad on CRI, it says, "5 million children died each year, just for the drinking water." So, help us to make the world safer. Although my actions are rather small, but I think with all of you guys help, there will be a strong power.

The color green gives the Olympic Game a deeper meaning, green is in flowers, grasslands and in trees; Green is in the sky, in the earth and in the sunshine. But to my opinion, green’s also in our minds, in our smiles and in the great love.

Once in an activity which was to plant trees for the community, every planter got a card to hang out on the tree with writing a few meaningful words. Do you know I have written what? That is:

灿烂未来 绿色希望

清晨绿色的阳光透过温柔的叶子洒向大地，年轮中曾经青涩的时光向未来讲述着美丽的传说，奥运五环中的绿色像温暖的拥抱明亮的光环笼罩在北京蔚蓝的天空下。随着第29届奥运会的临近，我们北京的每一个市民都像是绿色奥运使者一样，越来越热爱我们的北京，越来越关心周围的环境。我们因自己是北京人，可以向每一个外国友人展示北京的风采而感到骄傲。而这样一次又一次的感动中，我看到草地更绿了，蓝天清澈了，一棵棵的小树苗在温柔的微风中茁壮成长。这是我的家，这是美丽的北京，这里寄托这绿色的奥运希望。

回想几年以前，我第一次在社区的路旁看到分类垃圾箱的时候，绿色奥运在我的大脑中还没有任何概念，只是觉得这样把垃圾分类是很新鲜的事。但是当我在不久后的班会上把手高高的举起来希望自己也可以加入"共青团EPD社团"的时候，心里已经坚信，"用自己的力量为2008年的北京做出贡献，这真是太伟大"了。也许这就是我和绿色奥运行动最开始的结缘吧。在随后的几个月中，校团委带领包括我们支部在内的20余名同学一起到学校周边的路旁捡拾白色垃圾，这对于我们来说是一次意义重大的活动。我们还在学校门口设立了回收旧电池的垃圾筒，来尽可能减少环境的污染并同时节约资源。当看到一袋袋白色垃圾和旧电池被搬到送往回收站的卡车上时，我们忘记了之前的一切辛苦，因为汗水换来了快乐，和，付出的喜悦。绿色北京的实现需要我们每一个人去努力，"绿色奥运，有我一个"，多么骄傲的一句话啊。

同时，环境保护的行动在我家也在进行着。爸爸把家里所有的水龙头都换成了节水型的水龙头，而且所有的生活用水都至少被循环了两到三次。我经常会在中国国际广播电台听到这样的一则公益广告："每年因缺水而死亡的儿童有500万之多"，身为同样生活在地球上的人类，我想我的行动虽然是微不足道的，但是如果大家都投身于节约用水和绿色环保的行动中来，那么我们的力量将是不可估量的。

绿色为奥运会的举办赋予了更深广的含义，绿色是花，是草，是树；绿色是天，是地，是阳光；可是在我心里，绿色更是心，是笑，是爱。

在社区举办的每一次植树活动中，每个植树者都会自己制作一个小牌子并写上自己对未来的希望，在和爸爸妈妈一个上午的努力过后，我在牌子上写到：

"成长快乐！"

成长快乐！每一棵为了让我们环境更美丽的小树！

成长快乐！正在飞速变化着的绿色北京！

从几年前北京着手申办2008年北京奥运会开始，2008年北京奥运会这个话题就一直备受关注。目前关注的焦点已从申办之初许下的诺言转移到如何真正履行诺言。在我看来，要跨越诺言与现实之间的鸿沟，北京还有很长一段路要走。
The 2008 Olympic Game has been the most discussed and anticipated event through out Beijing ever since Beijing bid for it years ago. Yet the focus has shifted from making a promise to making good a promise after Beijing’s successful bid. In my opinion, to bridge the gap between a promise and reality, Beijing still has a long way to go. Here are some of my ideas on how to fill that gap.

首先，在所有亟待解决的问题中，跨越英语口语这一难关至关重要。学会一门语言的关键在于坚持不懈。我们到能不能做到让大多数国人在2008年到来之前都学会说英语？这一问题需要我们不断努力和尝试。
First, the speaking of English is far most important than all other difficulties. Learning a language takes a long time and a lot of heart ship, it’s not easy. So can we get most of Chinese to speak English before 2008? It needs us to try and practice very hard.

其次，交通拥挤一直是困扰北京的老大难问题。一辆接一辆车连在一起构成的汽车长龙加之它们不断排放到空气中的黑烟这种情景早就给我们留下了深刻的印象。我相信没有一个国人愿意把北京的这一面暴露给来自世界各地的参赛队员和新闻记者，因为它会严重损坏北京的形象和声誉。所以，我们必须致力于建设绿色奥运这一目标。
Second, traffic jams have been an age-old headache in Beijing, the scenes of long queues of vehicles worming their way inch by inch while discharging dark fumes into the air had given all of us a really bad impression, and I know that none of us wish to show off that side of Beijing to athletes and journalists over the world, it would blemish the city’s image and leave a bad reputation. So we have to work real hard on Green Olympics.

Thirdly, to add enchantment to convenience, an over-all city planning is indispensable. If time permits, a redesign of city layout and adjustment of architectural style would provide a better environment for fostering the characteristics, blending oriental elegance with international grandeur, will tower a lot among surrounding architectures. To achieve such effects, Beijing shall solicit opinions from first-rate architects and make an overall plan.

Even though, Beijing still has a lot to do to reach the level that the world expects, but we have the confidence to make Beijing a brand new city by the year 2008. Huge changes are taking places, and not far in the future, Beijing will be the focus of all worlds’ attention. The world trusts Beijing and that’s why Beijing won the bid. We will grasp this opportunity and do our best. We are not yet ready but we will be by the year 2008.

I will be twelve years old when 2008 Olympic being held in Beijing. I have many dreams about it, I want to be a translator to work for foreign athletes. I want to be a guider to show Beijing to foreign visitors. I also want to be a athlete to win honor for China. I want to be…

But as a pupil, what can I do for it now? First, I should make Beijing’s environment to grow better, I can save water, electricity and paper, place garbage by classifying it, actively spread the knowledge of environmental protection. I am looking forward the Beijing Olympics on 2008 very much. This is the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic Games, and the day the world sports family gathering together, as well as the day Chinese people are really proud of.
As a small master, I really want to become an Olympic volunteer, but I still too young to really become a volunteer. But I can still do something for the Beijing Olympic Games.
First of all, as a citizen of China, I will use my warm heart and smile to greet every foreign friend from all over the world, and to show off our Chinese friendly and hospitable spirit so that every foreign friend will know the city by the faces. Next, I want to learn English harder so that during the Olympics I could speak to foreign friends and community in English, and do my best to help them, For example, be a little translator and to help foreigners when they ask way. Let them know China by the behaviors of us.
