pron.他者;另一个;其他;
4、another 英[əˈnʌðə(r)]，美[əˈnʌðər] 英式发音与美式发音是不一样的
adj. （同类中）又一的，再一个（或一批）的;另一的，别的，不同的;另一类似的;
det./pron. （同类中的）又一个，再一个;不同的一个，另一个;类似的另一个;
【侧重点不同】
1、other其他的，不是指剩下部分的全部，相当于other+复数名词。
2、the other特制在一定范围内的其余所有的人或物。
3、others所指的其他人并非其他所有的人，指其他部分的全部，相当于other+复数名词。
4、another指三者或三者以上的人或物。
【用法】
other的用法
other表示“别的，其它的”,它不能单独使用，后面必须要接可数名词的复数形式。
He overtook the other runners on the last lap.
他在最后一圈时超过了其他的赛跑选手。
Problems always lead to other problems.
有些问题总是连带着另外的问题。
My other sister is a doctor.
我的另一个妹妹是医生。
the other的用法
the other多指“两者中的另一个”，也可以指三者及以上中剩下的最后一个。可以独立使用，也可以在后面接上名词。
I had a long conversation with her the other day.
前几天我与她作了一次长谈。
He sets an example to the other students.
他为其他同学树立了榜样。
The other one was much too expensive.
另一个太贵了。
others的用法
others表复数，泛指“别人；别的东西”，它就相当于other+名词复数，因此它的后面不能再接名词。如果句中前面出现了some，后面通常就会用others，即构成“Some…others…”的结构，这时也可以翻译成“有的……有的……”。
I don't like this dress.Show me some others.
我不喜欢这件衣服,请另外拿几件给我看看。
I went swimming while the others played basketball.
我去游泳,其余的人都去打篮球了。
I can't do the fourth question but I've done all the others.
第四题我不会,但剩下的我都答了。
another的用法
another表三者及以上中的“再一，另一”个，后接单数名词。这个单词本来就是“another”两个单词的连写，所以它的前面不可能再用上冠词an。
It is just as well that you took another road.
还好你们走了另一条路。
She has been transferred to another department.
她已被调往另一个部门。
Will you like another cup of tea?
你要再来一杯茶吗？
1、other 其他的，另外的，泛指另一个、另一些。作定语时，常与可数名词复数连用。
如果前面有the、some、any、each、every及形容词性物主代词时，可与可数名词单数连用。
2、others 泛指别的、其他人。是other的复数形式。相当于other+可数名词复数
常用结构: some…others… 一些…另一些…
3、the other 可作代词也可作形容词，表(两者中的)另一个，常用于one..the other..的句型中。
例：she has two children，one is a boy，the other is a girl. 她有两个孩子，一个是男孩，另一个是女孩。
4、another 泛指(指三者或三者以上中的)另一个，既可作代词又可作形容词。
(1)、做代词
例：I don't like this one .Please show me another .我不喜欢这一个，请再给我一个。
(2)做形容词
例：I will be back in another ten days. 我再过十几天回来。
