Founded in 1707, the Old Summer Palace is a large imperial garden in China, located in Haidian District, Beijing.
圆明园是中国清代大型皇家园林，位于北京市海淀区，始建于1707年。
It is composed of the Old Summer Palace and its adjacent gardens changchun Garden and Qichun Garden (later renamed Wanchun Garden).It is also known as the Three Yuanming Gardens and the Garden of Ten thousand Gardens.
由圆明园及其附园长春园和绮春园（后改名万春园）组成。也叫圆明三园 ，有“万园之园”之称 。
The Qing Emperor would come here every summer to spend the summer and listen to government affairs, so it is also called "Summer Palace". In 1860, during the Second Opium War, the Old Summer Palace was looted and burned by British and French troops.
清帝每到盛夏就来此避暑、听政，故圆明园又称“夏宫”。1860年第二次鸦片战争期间，圆明园遭英法联军洗劫并烧毁。
The former site is now known as the Old Summer Palace Ruins Park.
故址现为圆明园遗址公园。
