就是每期报纸居于最醒目位置的头号新闻，仅仅“headline”还不足以表达这个意思。用地道的英文应该怎么说呢？
中文的“头版头条”可是每期只有那么一条的哦，所以复数形式的肯定不对了……

头版头条 = front page headlines 不行

那么，cover page headline story / cover page headline 如何？你自己可以google一下，哪个搜索显示最地道，那个就是你所需要的。 再者西方报纸的排版不像中国报纸那样有一则头条新闻，所有的首页新闻是当天最重要的新闻。
