关于NBA明星科比的英语小短文

如题所述

Today, I want to discuss a renowned NBA player who has been a part of the Lakers. Undoubtedly, many of you are familiar with him. Can you guess who I'm referring to? Yes, you got it right—his name is Kobe Bryant. His parents named him after a famous type of steak—Kobe beef from Japan, which they had encountered on a restaurant menu.
At the tender age of six, Kobe, along with his parents and two older sisters, relocated to Italy. His father, a professional basketball player, had commenced his career there. Kobe adapted to the local lifestyle and became proficient in Italian. During this time, he also learned to play soccer, with AC Milan being his favorite team. Bryant has mentioned that if he had continued living in Italy, he might have pursued a career in soccer.
In 1991, the Bryant family returned to the United States. In 1996, Kobe Bryant made a direct leap from high school to the NBA. He was drafted in the first round as the 13th pick by the Charlotte Hornets but was later traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The following year, he emerged victorious in the Slam Dunk Contest at the All-Star Game. In his second season in 1998, he was selected for the All-Star Game's starting lineup, becoming the youngest player to achieve this feat.
He went on to win six All-Star Game selections and was named the MVP of the 2002 All-Star Game. Bryant, alongside Shaquille O'Neal, established a dominant era for the Lakers, securing three NBA championships in 2000, 2001, and 2002. After O'Neal's departure to the Eastern Conference, Bryant assumed the role of the Lakers' undisputed leader. Currently, he exhibits exceptional leadership qualities, fostering team spirit and guiding the Lakers towards success.
I admire his philosophy: "Love me or hate me, it's one or the other. Always has been. Hate my game, my swagger. Hate my fade away, my hunger. Hate that I'm a veteran, a champion. Hate that. Hate it with all your heart. And hate that I'm loved, for the exact same reasons."
