当as well as连接并列主语时（多数可理解为插入语，有无逗号均可），句中谓语动词的数应该和真正的主语，也就是as well as前面的主语，保持一致，即就远原则。例：
Halen, as well as his brothers, has gone abroad.
海伦和他的兄弟们都出国了。
Your wife as well as you is friendly to me.
你妻子和你对我都很友好。
就远原则：”名词 + 介词/介词词组 + 名词 ”结构作主语时，谓语动词的单复数要与介词/介词短语前的名词（即离谓语动词比较远的那个主语）单复数保持一致。
经常出现的此类介词/介词词组：but, except, besides, like, with, as well as, no less than, along with, in addition to, rather than, together with。
as well as 的用法
As well as has a similar meaning to“not only”.（牛津用法词典）
在传统用法中，as well as并不等同于and。我们知道，在not only A but also B的结构中，语义上侧重B，而在A as well as B结构中，语义上侧重A，所以，一般翻译成“不仅B，而且A；既B，又/也A”。
例：In greenhouses,computers control the watering of the plants as well as the light and the temperature.在温室里，计算机既控制光照和温度，也控制作物的灌溉。
She is clever as well as beautiful.她不仅漂亮，而且聪明。（她既聪明又漂亮。）
