Wang En had given a speech before in our school about gratitude. After that, he gave each student a free ticket for another lecture. I went to the lecture, and it gave us a chance to go to a summer camp which could help us to improve our English. Although the fee for the camp was super expensive (it cost thousands of yuan), I still signed up and went to the camp. The environment of the camp was nice, but the knowledge they taught us was EXTREMELY SIMPLE. They just gave us some passages that were kind of equal to the passages we had learned when we were in fifth or sixth grade. They also taught grammars, but the grammars were also simple. They had foreign teachers, but their pronunciations were not like the pronunciation of the local people who live in the U.S. or in the U.K. The other activities that were provided in the camp were also not so meaningful. So basically, I spent lots of money and LEARNED NOTHING but just stayed in a nice hotel for almost a week. When the camp ended, the teachers and staffs in the camp wanted the students to join another camp to continue to improve their English level. Some people didn't want to join the camp, so the teachers scolded them, saying that they were not showing filial piety(I don't think these two things have any kind of connection). My parents prepaid for the camp, but then we realized that it was not worthy, so we didn't pay the whole bill. The staffs called us many times to ask for our payment, and they were annoying. I didn't like their behaviors.
All in all, I think it's good to listen to the speech, and if you want to, you can join the camp. But remember, the camp is for those students who really need help in English(in other words, they are not good at English, didn't understand their English class in school at all). And if you are able to read and understand what I am saying, or maybe you can point out some of my grammar errors, you don't have to spend so much money on that camp. I know that I am kind of off topic and a little unrespectful, but these are real experiences, and I hope that someone can learn from my mistakes and don't have to spend so much money just to learn something that he or she has learned in the past.
This is only my personal experience, and if you disagree with me or your experience in this camp is different from mine, it's okay because the camp was just not helpful for me.
