nothing but为习语，意为“根本不是”“一点不是”。如：
For miles and miles I could see nothing except (= but) a great fire and lots of smoke. 一连好几英里，除了大火和浓烟我什么也看不见。
anything but 也是习语，意为“仅仅”“只”。如：
I was anything but happy about going.我一点也不愿意出去。
I have nothing ut money.除了（有）钱,我什么都没有。
I have anything ut money.除了（没）钱,我什么都有。
nothing ut 表示 除了有（ut 后面的东西）...其他一无所有
anything ut 表示 除了没有(ut 后面的东西)...其他都有
但是还有一种情况 anything ut 可以用在否定句中 就可以与nothing ut 表达同一种意思
如 I don't have anything ut money.除了（有）钱，我什么都没有。
