Samsung Electronics Vietnam's exports during the first half of the year are in excess of US$10 billion. According to industry sources on July 9, the export volume of Samsung's Vietnamese subsidiary from selling mobile phones and smartphones was preliminarily tallied at $11.2 billion. The first-half performance is almost 90 percent of what the company achieved in the whole year of 2012.This was largely thanks to the brisk sales in major markets including the Middle East and Europe. In the United Arab Emirates alone, for example, Samsung Electronics Vietnam sold about $1 billion worth of mobile devices during the first half. The company expects to break the $20-billion level by the year's end, way over the $16.5-billion export target for the year.The company is the biggest mobile device manufacturer out of eight plants across the world operated by Samsung, capable of producing 120 million units of mobile devices a year.
