Miss Besty,she is one who is respected deeply by the hero, David, and even by the author. She is a good natured woman, although she is eccentric and temperamental; she hates evil and sometimes it is hard for her to avoid making caustic remark. She sees the aspect of worldly affairs more deeply than any others, just like “hit the nail on the head”. When Mr. Murdstone and Miss Murdstone try to defend themselves for their maltreatment of David, she points out that, without any mercy.Peggoty,this nurse is also full of flavor and an observer who tastes to the full the hardship in life, and sees enough about the affairs of human life and the ways of the world. Although her low social status, she is full of sympathy, and has a noble character. She is a middle-aged woman who is experienced of great depth and no lack of wisdom and insight.
